Located in the trendy Yaletown neighborhood of Vancouver, British Columbia, the Opus Hotel Vancouver, one of only two Opus hotels in Canada, is stylish and modern, and is one of the major quality hotels in Vancouver. Its location is close to Stanley Park, beaches, and the terminals where cruise ships come and go every day.
Opus has 96 luxury guestrooms featuring vibrant colors and spa-like bathrooms, and is one of the top rated hotels in the world; it’s also pet friendly. It was voted Best of the Best, one of the world’s top 100 hotels by readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine in 2008, but has also been named as:
• One of the World’s Best Hotels Condé Nast Traveler Magazine Gold List, in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008
• One of the Best 500 Hotels in the World, Travel + Leisure Magazine, 2006, 2007, 2008
• One of Forbes Best 400 Hotels
Of course, when we start talking luxury, we have to look at the two top levels of suites. Our first stop is the Executive Retreat, which is colored in either red or blue walls with white furniture. Each room has 505 square feet of space, and are corner rooms. They have a queen sized bed, wet bar, an executive work desk with ergonomic chair, living room with a sectional sofa bed that’s separated from the bedroom by a large armoire with two 27″ televisions, plus an adjoining dressing area. They each have a 4-piece spa bathroom with a soaker tub, separate walk-in shower, and a panoramic exterior view.
But the truly luxurious room of the Opus is the Penthouse Suite, 645 square feet of glamour. These corner suites have a living room with a large sectional sofa, Bang & Olufsen CD stereo, a large plasma screen television, an adjoining powder room, wet bar and bedroom area featuring a chrome four poster king sized bed. There’s also an adjoining bathroom with an oversized jetted soaker tub, panoramic exterior window and separate walk-in shower. And, of all things, a two-sided fireplace between the living room and the bedroom.
Add to this experience the Elixer Room restaurant, which specializes in French cuisine and was awarded the Bronze medal for best Casual French cuisine by Vancouver Magazine, and you’ll easily understand why the Opus Hotel Vancouver is one of the top luxury hotels in Canada.
